چکیده

We studied laser-microdissection of standard and Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) nanotemplate protein crystals in glycerol solution. The time required for microdissection was significantly longer for LB-crystals as compared to standardcrystals which also more rapidly dissolve. Microfragmentation of lysozyme crystals was observed after extended solvent exposure. Synchrotron radiation nanobeam mapping allowed localizing and aligning cryofrozen lysozyme microfragments. 3D data-sets obtained from two microfragments were refined to atomic resolution. The well-defined electron density maps showed no evidence for damage of radiation of sensitive side-groups. Our results suggest applications of laser-microdissection techniques in structural studies on crystals with a high mosaicity. They also provide a new window for the characterization of protein crystal organization down to the submicron scale, pointing to a new emerging biophysical technique. Analysis of the theory of thermal damage in biological tissues caused by Laser beam

Introduction: In laser surgery, the laser beam can evaporate and cut the tissue like a small surgical knife when the tissue temperature is heated to 100 degrees Celsius. a complete understanding of the distribution of damage in both pathologic tissue and surrounding tissue is necessary. Although the test is the most realistic solution for treating medical problems, for this rea...

Evaluation of Temperature Rise and Thermal Lesion Dimensions in Liver Laser Interstitial Thermotherapy

Introduction:  Laser  interstitial  thermotherapy  (LITT)  is  an  internal  ablation  therapy  method  consisting of a percutaneous or intraoperative insertion of laser fibers directly into the liver tumor with  maximum diameter of 5 cm. In this treatment method, there isn’t any general information about the  relationship  between  increasing  the  exposure  power,  coagulation  and  carboniza...

Fabrication and Optical Characterization of Silicon Nanostructure Arrays by Laser Interference Lithography and Metal-Assisted Chemical Etching

In this paper metal-assisted chemical etching has been applied to pattern porous silicon regions and silicon nanohole arrays in submicron period simply by using positive photoresist as a mask layer. In order to define silicon nanostructures, Metal-assisted chemical etching (MaCE) was carried out with silver catalyst. Provided solution (or materiel) in combination with laser interference lithogr...

Coalescence of Nanoclusters and Formation of Submicron Crystallites Assisted by Lactobacillus Strains

Lactobacillus strains, common in buttermilk, assist the growth of gold, silver, and gold-silver alloy crystals of submicron dimensions upon exposure to the precursor ions. Several well-defined crystal morphologies are observed. Crystal growth occurs by the coalescence of clusters, and tens of crystals are found within the bacterial contour. Crystal growth does not affect the viability of the ba...

Laser capture microdissection in pathology.

The molecular examination of pathologically altered cells and tissues at the DNA, RNA, and protein level has revolutionised research and diagnostics in pathology. However, the inherent heterogeneity of primary tissues with an admixture of various reactive cell populations can affect the outcome and interpretation of molecular studies. Recently, microdissection of tissue sections and cytological...
